The following vision for Safe Harbor Network is purely a dream, but at the same time, we can dare to believe that God can do great things in reaching hurting people if he so chooses.
DOCKS
An SHN Dock is comprised of a few families or singles up to a small group size. Docks are formed by people who want to take initiative by just inviting a few folks to their home and sharing their lives together. The great thing about a Dock it that most anyone can initiate one.

SHN Docks are an affiliate of Safe Harbor Network. By forming and coordinating a Dock, you will also receive the help and resources of the greater ministry of Safe Harbor Network. From a weekly corporate message and interactive worship, ministry to addicts and alcoholics, and everything between, SHN corporate will be there for you as we grow together. Docks are a formal affiliation with SHN.
The great news is Docks can be formed anywhere around the world! All our weekly messages, worship, and resources are primarily delivered via the internet to each Dock. People who form together comprising a Dock can either get together as a group to hear the message and take part in the interactive worship, or just tune in from your own homes!

Outreach is made easier with an SHN Dock. If people who are hurting are intimidated coming to a local gathering, they can just tune in online to whatever they want via SHN corporate. As you get to know them outside of your group gatherings, a friendship will form. Hurting people sometimes have a real fear or adverse disposition going to a gathering. As they tap into a non-threatening means of grace like SHN, they’ll gain confidence in you as their friend. An organic friendship will take place where they feel more comfortable joining your Dock later. Bottom line, its OK if they don’t. We’re just here to reach hurting people where they are.

The idea is that the folks who comprise a Dock will be gathering during the week at a designated time mutually agreed upon. The Dock members participate in the corporate gatherings each week with SHN. This way, the main meeting each week is hosted by SHN. Why is this an advantage? Because you don’t have to! Now, the burden, responsibility, gifting and training needed to conduct these types of gatherings don’t fall to you. How does this benefit? Most anyone can initiate a Dock. We believe in releasing everyone to minister.

The reason Docks are so important to the overall vision of SHN is because it gives people a local context to walk out their everyday lives together. Real ministry takes place here. Personal support, care, friendship are built in. The great One Another’s Paul speaks about in Romans 12 can be a reality. No one should be out there alone.
Forming an SHN Dock may very well begin with you. Jesus said, the fields are ripe for harvest. Who will he send? It doesn’t take much. Just be a willing vessel to love and care for people and allow God to do the rest. Your friends at Safe harbor Network will come along side you.

"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe[a] came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved."
Acts 2:4
