An SHN Lighthouse is the focal point of all our ministry affiliations.  A Lighthouse is the embodiment of all we stand for.  All facets of our network will be included.  From REST ministries to Docks, weekly services, resources, and everything in between.  Being recognized as an SHN Lighthouse gives you the closest relationship to our Harbor Counsel, and grants assistance from SHN wherever possible.

A Lighthouse may be planted by the SHN Harbor Counsel or adopted after a strong relationship has been formed with another church or ministry seeking a Lighthouse status.  For there to be an SHN Lighthouse plant, we must be able to identify a candidate to lead such an endeavor already having been a part of SHN.  Adopting existing churches or ministries is a process that must first begin with identifying as an affiliate for a period of a least a year.  Both parties must feel comfortable with each other with mutual respect and the conclusion each party can be an asset to the other.

These strategic locations that are established will be a regional hub for activity.  Things such as visits from our Harbor Counsel, seminars, establishing various REST ministries are just a few things worth mentioning.  People who become a part of a Lighthouse will be able to plunge into all that SHN has to offer.

An SHN Lighthouse will remain true to our founder George’s vision.  We are a Base of activity primarily geared toward the hurting, outcast, lost, and despairing people in a geographical area.  A Lighthouse is meant to be a beacon of hope guiding people that have been tossed about by the storms of life into a Safe Harbor.  Jesus is the light of the world.  The Holy Spirit is God’s light to a dying and hurting world.   SHN Lighthouses primary objective is to be a light shining in the darkness.

At our locations, regular people like you and me are encouraged to minister.  There will be no “us and them” mentality between leaders and members, or members and people out there who are different than us.  Everyone should be reaching out to the hurting.  We don’t have “Our way” of doing things.  There is no mold someone needs to fit.  There are no doctrinal practiced someone must ascribe to.  

Lighthouses are the heartbeat of SNH.  We sincerely hope our lighthouses are filled with the Holy Spirit as we minister his healing power to a dying and hurting world.
